This is the U.K. home of BMW's 1980s flagship, the M635 CSi.  This site is not affiliated in any way with BMW GB or the BMW Car Club GB and any trademarks used here are the property of their owners.

The M635 CSi was BMW's masterpiece throughout its production life, from 1984 to 1988,  a truly superb car, boasting 286 bhp from its 24 valve straight six engine purloined the M1 supercar, which not only propelled the big coupe to 60 mph in just about 6.0 seconds, but catapulted  the Bavarian manufacturer into the same market place as Porsche and Ferrari.

Combining power, style and,  exclusivity with poise and phenomenal presence, the M635 CSi had few competitors. Then, as now, its closest competitor for most of its life was the M5.  In right hand drive form, only 524 of these hand finished Bavarian works of art were created between 1984 and late 1988, and if that wasn't enough to ensure exclusivity, the price in 1989, nudging perilously close to £50000, certainly was.

It's not known how many survive today, but unfortunately the M635's worst enemy is rust and many are known to have succumbed to a terminal infection.  It is estimated that about half are likely to remain, but it is thought that significantly less are actually on the road

The M635 CSi is in fact, still BMW's fastest ever production car with a top speed of 158 mph.  All subsequent, M cars  were limited to 155 mph
